At six o'clock you turn the key. After that, nobody's there.

Count the places where someone can get in, then count the spaces you want to cover. For an average shop that's the front door, the rear entrance and the stockroom door, plus a motion detector on the shop floor and one at the back. If you have a shop window on the street, add a glass break detector, because it triggers the moment the glass breaks rather than only when someone steps through.

You don't have to have it all at once. One control panel handles everything, and you pair every sensor you buy later yourself.

Everyone gets their own code. If someone leaves or you take on a temporary seasonal worker, you revoke that code without anyone else having to change anything — no hassle with one key everybody knows and that you don't get back when someone leaves. You can operate it via the control panel or the app, so you can also arm it remotely if the last person forgot.

The indoor siren and the siren on the façade go off, and at the same time you get an alert on your phone with the zone concerned: the back door, the stockroom, the shop floor. So you know immediately whether it's the front or the back before you get in the car.

What the system doesn't do is send someone for you. There's no monitoring centre and no patrol, and that's a deliberate choice — that comes with a subscription and we don't sell those. What it does do is stop the break-in and wake you up while it's happening, instead of you discovering it on Monday morning.

A fog generator is an addition to your alarm system, not a replacement. It's worth considering if you have stock that can be gone in one night and where a siren alone isn't enough of a deterrent: phones, jewellery, designer clothing, drinks. The VisionOff® fills about 150 cubic metres in eight seconds, so with a standard ceiling height a space of around sixty square metres. There's simply nothing left to grab.

Use it for a business that's closed and empty. We advise against it during opening hours: the fog is non-toxic and safe for your equipment, but in a room full of people it causes falls and panic, including among your own staff. For robberies during opening hours, other measures apply — contact a specialised security company or your local crime prevention service.
